![]() Heavy current over a small wire creates a localized heater like a rear window defroster or (in the more extreme case) a soldering iron. I feel pretty certain that burn is the result of too much current for the gauge of contacts inside the connector rather than not having enough air flow from the fans. When looking at the back of the white connector (where the metal tabs are), that single pin is much more clearly and singularly burned along its entire length. The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that the root cause of the "burned green connector pin" problem has little to do with cooling fans and is instead caused entirely by the connector itself not being of sufficient gauge to handle the current load of the green circuit. I'm surprised more people don't have this issue. I guess nobody cares about this subject based upon the lack of responses. ![]() If anybody know how to get in the service menu with a Harmony Hub, please let me know. I tried Q.Menu in Harmony, which sounded weird enough to maybe be the service menu, but it just brings up the standard quick menu on the bottom of the LG screen. I know from other posts that it's possible to do that with a Harmony, which I have, but I don't know what command to use. I need to go into the service menu to check temperatures and set fan rates. It's a partially lit room, so energy savings on medium is not a welcome change, but I will leave it there for now. I changed the energy settings from "minimum" to "medium" and turned "high altitude" on (I'm assuming that runs the fans more aggressively, though the owners manual isn't clear what turning high altitude mode actually does). I'll keep my eye out for a connector and replace it later if I find one. That was enough to allow it to work for now. So, I cleaned up the connector with deoxit and tried to manipulate the pin a bit (but it's pretty stuck in the darkened plastic). I've looked for a new LG connector and pins without success and I sent photos to local repair place who quoted a minimum of $120 with no guarantee that he can fix it.
